The above picture is Photo One in the history of the Redlands Singers. The new chorale is new in name and independent status, but the singers themselves have been together since 1990, not as the Redlands Singers, but as members of the choir of Redlands Community Church. Their performance pictured above as guests of the Greater Miami Symphonic Band ( "Holiday Concert" ) on Dec. 15, 2000, at the University of Miami's Gusman Hall, was the first outing of the chorale as an independent group not associated with the church. After more than a decade as one of the finest and most versatile sacred choirs in the area, a core of ten excellent singers left the auspices of their former church home on January 1, and founded the troupe to continue their music ministry, their unique concepts of music, and their popular concert series. Michael Roy Eaton also left his position as director of music at RCC, and continues as director/arranger of the new chorale, the Redlands Singers.
